Enhancing connectivity to Gwalior, NHAI starts tender process for two flyovers on Kanpur Road

These projects were at a standstill for 18 years!

After a wait of 18 years, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is finally going ahead with the tender process for two flyover projects on Kanpur Road. To be completed at an estimated cost of ₹144 crores, this project was on hold for these years due to objections from the Indian Army and the Airport Authority of India (AAI).

These flyovers will decongest the busy Kanpur Road

One of these two projects will be a three-layer flyover right at the intersection that connects Gwalior and Shivpuri Road to Kanpur Road. It is noteworthy that the said intersection witnesses a lot of congestion. Once the new bridge on Kanpur Road is complete, this problem is expected to be solved.

The second flyover, stretching across one kilometer, will connect Kochhabhanwar to Medical Tiraha. This bridge is also expected to solve the traffic snarls at the Medical College Intersection. In a nutshell, both these flyovers will ease the flow of traffic on Kanpur Road, which is among the busiest highways in Uttar Pradesh.
