Bringing a wave of joy for the young boys and girls in Kanpur, a new Children’s Park is set to open its gates in March. Constructed by Kanpur Municipal Corporation, the facility is spread over 1500 square metres of land, encapsulated in Kargil Park, Motijheel, as per reports. Being the first of its kind amongst 600 parks housed in the city, this complex will allow exclusive access to kids and youngsters, thereby, increasing their footfall in Motijheel.
Beautification works under Amrit Yojana
According to reports, this park project is a part of the beautification works worth ₹4.5 crores, being implemented under Amrit Yojana. The latest complex consists of 10 advanced and interesting swings in addition to well-paved specified areas for skating. Mending and strengthening the park boundaries, the fencing has been renovated with new railings. Given the long list of additions that have been worked upon, the park will soon evolve as a favourite destination among children.
KMC & IIT-K to renovate 5 parks across Kanpur
Reportedly, Kanpur Municipal Corporation and IIT-K have planned to renovate 5 parks across the city through collaborative efforts. These include Kargil Park, Tulsi Upvan and Parshuram Vatika, amongst others. Amidst the issues addressed by the proposed plans, the proper disposal of green waste accumulated in the parks will be a priority as it disturbs the beauty of the park and becomes a causes air pollution during its disposal. IIT Kanpur will intervene to convert this biodegradable waste into manure and natural fertilizers.
While the interventions have provided a new space for recreational activities, they have also been aimed at bettering the ecosystem. Through this, one can easily observe the multifaceted objectives of the projects which become important in today’s time when sustainable development is a priority.
