For accurate weather reports in Kanpur, Azad University to issue Heat Index

The Heat index is based on what the temperature feels like to the human body, taking into account relative humidity and air temperature.

To give an even better understanding of weather conditions, India Meteorological Department (IMD), will soon issue a report with daily Heat index for Kanpur also known as ’real feel’ readings for the people. Rather than using the classic temperature model, a Heat index is based on what the temperature feels like to the human body, taking into account the impact of relative humidity and air temperature

As per reports, the weather department of CS Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, will be issuing heat index readings of the city.

Heat index for better weather understanding 

When calculating the heat index, scientists will consider meteorological factors such as relative humidity, minimum and maximum temperatures, wind speed and the set duration of heat wave spell for accurate results. On the basis of heat index readings, the university will also issue a colour-based warning classified into red, yellow, and orange.
