IIT Kanpur has yet again come up with a unique bit of innovation, with an unobtrusive and affordable lung health monitoring technology. The new device developed at the institute is equipped with an acoustic mask and sound sensors, along with an intelligent corded apparatus. This helps the system sense the patient's breathing sounds, which are otherwise inaudible.

This unique technology has already been patented

The said lung health monitoring technology has been developed by a team of inventors. The team includes inventors from IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, and Naya Raipur's Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT). Furthermore, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has also backed the project financially.

The aforementioned healthcare device developed at IIT Kanpur consists of a Wi-Fi module, which allows it to share patients' lung health data with medical professionals. Apart from that, the device boasts a highly durable battery to enable consistent monitoring of patient data.
