The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur has now bagged a position among the top 100 universities in the world, under the QS World University Rankings list.

The premier institute of the country has demonstrated excellence in various fields including Computer Science & Information Systems - where it has moved up 13 places to rank 96; in Electrical & Electronic Engineering - climbing 21 places to rank 87; in Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering, with a ranking of 121 and has also earned a ranking of 122 in mathematics stream. In addition, IIT Kanpur has secured the 248th position in the field of Natural Sciences.

Notably, the QS World University Ranking system annually rank established universities, evaluating up to 1,500 worldwide institutions based on eight key indicators.
