IIT Kanpur's C3iHub launches first set of startups to boost cyberspace security!

Reportedly, developments will be seen in the fields of UAV security, blockchain, intrusion detection and cyber-physical system.

In an attempt to strengthen safety and security across virtual spaces, C3iHub, the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur's technical innovation hub on cybersecurity has launched the first group of startups. As per reports, these firms will work towards the production of devices and services in the fields of UAV security, blockchain, intrusion detection and cyber-physical system. Reportedly, 13 start-ups have been chosen after a strenuous selection procedure.

According to reports, 25 R&D principal investigators will look after the developments to promote incubation and research. Given the increasing scope of digital and virtual services, there is an urgent need for new innovations in the field of cybersecurity. Only when streamlined measures are implemented, a safe and secure environment for digital resources can be ensured.

Reportedly, Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, secretary, department of science and technology, Government of India, Prof. Sandeep Verma, secretary, Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and other top academicians were present at the recent event to mark this event. Further, reports state that the inaugural function was attended by a long list of industry veterans and experts in Indian cybersecurity.

Focused research to drive inception of inventive ideas

With multiple disruptions noticed in the past few years, Indian cyberspace has been prone to attacks and other issues. Now, the latest intervention by C3iHub will help in boosting the safety of the sensitive sector through the introduction of inventive services and products.

Reportedly, a senior official informed that nearly 25 groups will be aided with initial funding every year. First, the lags in cyberspace security will be identified and the trained professional will devise ideas to resolve expected problems. Thereafter, these ideas will be transformed into operational plans and the officials will also try to rope in high-level support for large-scale execution.
