India battles Covid-19 resurgence; Kanpur registers 3 more cases

A fresh surge is Covid-19 cases is now being observed throughout India. According to Union Health Ministry's recent report, as many as 1,539 active cases and 4 deaths have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours. In addition, 3 cases were reported this Monday, in the Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

Reportedly, out of the 3 fresh cases, one has been reported in the Barra World Bank area, another in the Vinayakpur area and a third case involves a female inmate who has tested positive in the women's barracks of Kanpur jail.

CMO issues alert in all the public hospitals of the city

In order to mitigate the fresh surge of Covid-19 infections, Kanpur district surveillance officer, Dr. R.P. Mishra has stated that Covid protocols are being followed alongside the treatment of patients, after conducting antigen tests in government-run hospitals. Additionally, random sampling is also been conducted at the airport, bus station and various locations, and all reports have been negative.

Meanwhile, CMO Dr. Alok Ranjan has declared an alert in hospitals and requested the screening of all patients with symptoms of Covid.

Along with this, the Union health ministry has urged the public to follow Covid protocols such as refraining from visiting crowded areas, using masks while in public spaces and maintaining adequate physical distance from others.
