After witnessing record-low temperatures on Wednesday, Kanpur experienced a slight relief on Thursday as sunshine brightened the daytime hours. However, the winter chill persisted, with the city enveloped in fog during the late hours. The minimum temperature recorded was 8°C.
Dense fog severely disrupted train services on the Delhi-Howrah route. On Wednesday, over 50 trains, including the Rajdhani and Tejas Express, were delayed at Kanpur Central Station due to reduced visibility. Similar delays persisted on Thursday.
For today's weather, the IMD predicts a minimum temperature of 10°C and a maximum of 19°C. Experts from the Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture anticipate partly to moderately cloudy skies between January 11 and 13, with rainfall, strong winds, and possible hailstorms expected on January 12 and 13.
