The new year is all set to bring a gift for residents, with the extension of Kanpur Metro just around the corner. According to the officials, the metro will be extended to run till Central Railway Station, after January 15, 2025. At present, the metro operates from IIT Kanpur to Motijheel.

This extension of Kanpur Metro will include the addition of 5 more stations, all of which will be underground. These include Chunniganj, Naveen Market, Bada Chauraha, Naya Ganj, and Kanpur Central. Currently, the final touches are being given to the extended stretch and a trial run will be conducted soon.

Once operational, this new Kanpur Metro extension will offer immense convenience to lakhs of commuters, trying to reach the railway station from different areas of the city.
