Kanpur Metro to reach Central Station by July, Naubasta in November

Currently, the metro runs from IIT-K to Motijheel in Kanpur.

Work on extending Kanpur Metro to cover more stations is expected to be completed within the stipulated deadline. According to the latest statement by UPMRC, the metro trains will start running till Central Station in July while it will begin running till Naubasta by November.

Corridor 2 of Kanpur Metro is expected to start operating inn 2026

The work on underground stations and tunnels has picked up speed and several of them have already been completed. For instance, the work on the underground stretch between Makrawat Ganj and Chunniganj reached completion yesterday.

It is noteworthy that Kanpur Metro will go underground from this very Makrawat Ganj station. As for the corridor 2 of the Kanpur Metro, UPMRC is confident that it will start operating till 2026.
