Kanpur Municipal Corporation is planning to establish a digital library at Gandhi Bhavan in Phoolbagh. According to the civic authorities, this initiative will help preserve rare books and manuscripts that are vulnerable to deterioration over time. Additionally, the e-library is designed to support students preparing for competitive exams and will offer courses in library management systems, creating a modern and versatile learning environment.

The project has reportedly received government approval, with KMC designated as the executing agency. Moreover, the funds for this project have also been sanctioned under the Chief Minister Global City Uday Scheme (CM-GCUS).
