KMC to develop Kanpur's Motijheel area into a tourist hub

In an attempt to attract more tourists to Kanpur the Kanpur Development Authority and Kanpur Municipal Corporation have jointly taken up the task to transfer the Motijheel area into a tourist hub. The designated tourist hub in the Motijheel area will have five parks equipped with various advanced features, walking and running tracks and more.

The Motijheel tourist hub will be ready this year!

KDA has already finished beautification works at Bal Udyan and Musical Fountain near Motijheel, meanwhile the beautification of Kargil park is still under progress. On the other hand, KMC has also taken up the beautification of the Tulsi Upvan under the Kanpur Smart City Mission.

As per the KMC officials, the Tulsi Upvan will have new swings installed for the kids and small lakes will be renovated. Additionally, a new pathway for walking and jogging will be constructed; and arrangements will be made for Light and Sound Laser Show depicting the story of Ramayana at the Ramayana Theme Park. Constructed at an estimated cost of ₹3.5 crores, the project is aimed at attracting tourists for a peaceful and exciting experience.

Beautification of Kargil park and other developments

Reportedly, CCTV cameras will be installed at the Kargil park in addition to the free wifi service for the visitors. As of now, three different circuits including a 1.8 km long synthetic track for jogging, separate track for walking and running is under construction. The beautification work is in progress and will cost around ₹4.5 crores.

KMC has already completed the beautification of the Bal Udyan, providing a boating facility, an artificial lake, a sitting area, a pathway for walking, and a canteen for the tourists. The approximate cost of this project was ₹7.5 crores.
