To further assist citizens of Kanpur, a designated Citizen Facilitation Centre is being set up at Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) headquarters, Moti Jheel. It will assist citizens in redressal of their civic problems with as many as 20 zone-wise counters.

The facility will provide solutions for various civic services such as obtaining a birth certificate, death certificate, and general civic issues including non-functional or absent street lights, and more, all at one place.

A time-bound service provider

Citizens are first required to obtain a token number from a machine installed at the Facilitation Centre as per their requirement or problem. From here, they are to go the related counter and get themselves registered. Upon registration, a slip bearing a unique QR code will be generated, through which the status of disposal of services can be tracked.

The redressal of each problem will be addressed in a time-bound manner with fixed deadlines and a detailed dispatch report. As per officials, a separate counter will be set up for cases in which certificates/permits are to be issued.

Meanwhile, a mobile application is also being developed on which citizens may register and avail of various services.
