In an effort to extend the city limits, the Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) has integrated 20,588.40 hectares of land, covering 84 villages in Kanpur Nagar and Kanpur Dehat regions. Ongoing efforts are directed towards developing residential, commercial, industrial and educational facilities in the expanded area.

Prior to this, a total of 40 villages from Bilhaur tehsil were incorporated into the expansion, with the initial phase of the Ring Road passing through these villages. The KDA secretary has announced the inclusion of an additional 84 villages in the boundary expansion project. A survey will be conducted to evaluate development possibilities, and KDA will actively seek land in these villages for residential and commercial projects.

This strategic initiative is designed not only to facilitate urban growth but also to generate fresh employment opportunities. Furthermore, people will also have the access of purchasing plots in these regions.
