With an aim to provide a hassle-free and smooth online house tax payment solution, Kanpur Nagar Nigam has signed an MoU with ICICI Bank. Reportedly, the bank will be tasked to upgrade and maintain the Kanpur House Tax collection portal.

Residents of Kanpur will be able to pay their house tax online from September 1, 2022. In addition to a smooth payment system, the concerned party will also receive a payment receipt via SMS, confirming the payment with a time stamp. Moreover, the system upgradation will also provide ease to the Municipal commissioner, as with the new system in place, the commissioner will be able to access all the information on house tax of each zone on its computer screens.

Other than this, more digital payment options are being explored in order to ensure digital payment efficiency. Following this, a POS machine will be made available in the zonal offices and sub-office.
