Knocksense Shorts | Kanpur to receive govt funding for boosting air quality

Cities, including Kanpur, Agra, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut, will get ₹255.12 crore to improve the overall standard of living.

With an aim to improve environmental conditions and, in turn, the quality of living, five cities of Uttar Pradesh will receive funding from the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. These cities, including Kanpur, Agra, Varanasi, Ghaziabad and Meerut, will get ₹255.12 crore earmarked from the government for dust control, increasing plantation, pollution check and more.

The objective is to boost the overall living standards in cities with population exceeding a million, and, at the same time, lower the PM10 concentration to enhance the air quality.
