Knocksense Shorts| Underground construction of Kanpur Metro station leads to traffic diversions

The road from Parade Chauraha is to be closed due to underground construction of Kanpur Metro station

Drishti Mathur

The ongoing construction of an underground Kanpur Metro station has caused traffic diversions in town. The Uttar Pradesh Metro Department has closed the entire route from Parade Chauraha to Sadbhavna Police Chowki, leaving travelers with no way to reach Yatimkhana or Rupam Talkies, nor go towards Ghanta Ghar or Kitab Market, and vice versa, from this intersection.

Blocked Routes Make Travel a Hassle

The blocked routes have caused travelers difficulty in reaching their desired locations. As per reports, in order to travel along the Sadbhavna Police Chowki route, commuters must leave the Lal Imli Mill as soon as they arrive at the Cycle Market and Yatimkhana.

Also, to reach the Multi-Storey Parking Lot at Parade Chauraha, the main entrance of which is blocked due to barricading, travelers will have to make a U-turn.
