The foundation is getting readied for the brand new city side building of the Kanpur Central Railway Station. The city's railway station is currently undergoing a facelift where a total of ₹767 crore will be spent over a period of three years.

Furthermore, metro work is also underway at Kanpur Central and the Naubasta Bypass. Notably, Kanpur Metro Line 1, which includes stations like Naubasta, Bauddh Nagar, and Chunniganj, is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2024.
