Wildlife lovers to soon see a new set of guests at Kanpur Zoo, including Indian Bison, White Tigress

Kanpur Zoo will soon have its new set of guests for visitors to marvel over. The zoo will be receiving a white tigress, an Asiatic lioness, a wild buffalo, and more from Andhra Pradesh.

The Kanpur Zoological Park or Allen Forest Zoo, which is deemed to be one of the largest in North India, flaunts a humongous open green space. With some 1,400 animals and some 125 different species, the fresh additions are being brought here from Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.

A wildlife exchange programme

In a sort of exchange programme, 7 wild animals will be transferred from the Kanpur Zoo to the SV Zoo in Tirupati.

In return, animals, including two Indian Bison (female and male gaur), a female white tigress, three wild dogs (one male and two female), a male and two female Ibis birds, will be brought to the Kanpur Zoo.

A wildlife team of experts, that incorporated a deputy ranger, a wildlife doctor, a head keeper, and three other employees, from the Kanpur zoo headed to Tirupati city to receive the animals. They are slated to be brought to the Uttar Pradesh city by April 5, after which they will be kept in quarantine for around 15 days.

All in all, wildlife adorers, gear up to see these majestic attractions at the Kanpur Zoo from May this year.
