Over the past few weeks, Lucknow has witnessed harsh sun, sultry humidity and even heavy spells of rain. In the first few days of the last week, the rain seemed unstoppable while towards the end, there seemed to be no respite from the scorching heat. According to the newest reports, Lucknow will once again witness a much needed rain spell over the coming week.

The meteorological department announced yesterday that the week ahead seems to have favourable conditions and we may finally get a much needed break from the harsh rays of the sun. They have gone on to state that from Tuesday, rains are expected to start and go on for the entire week.

As per the authorities, this development in the weather cycle comes due to low atmospheric pressure and cyclonic winds that are currently presiding over central India. Reports have suggested that the winds should reach the Northern parts of India in a matter of a few days and bring relief to North Indians.

Showers are expected to start in UP and surrounding areas by Tuesday and go on till at least Friday. Following that, the chances of rain will be high but there is no certainty on that yet. Over the weekend however, temperatures could rise and result in humid days.

Over the past week, temperatures rose on the sunny and sultry days, mostly above normal. Prior to that, the heavy rainfall resulted in some moderate temperatures that were dwindling around the average. In the coming week, temperatures are expected to stay the same.

Not only will the rains help lower the temperature, they will also decrease the humidity levels in and around the city. Humidity is what mostly makes it feel like a few degrees above normal and with the rains, the levels will go down.
