The proposal for an integrated terminal at Lucknow airport that has been lying pending since two-years, has now been given a green signal! The news got confirmed after its announcement by Union Minister of Civil Aviation, who also stated the need for it, considering the growth in the number of flyers in both domestic and international flights to and from Chaudhary Charan Singh airport.

The new terminal will be constructed by the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and will be able to handle 4000 passengers instead of the current 600, during peak hours. The new terminal will be able to handle more than 63 lakh passengers, annually and will be made on 1 lakh sqmt area, at an estimated cost of Rs 1230 crore.

Proposed features in the upcoming airport terminal

Be ready to see a better and new Lucknow airport with the new and grand terminal 3, that is going to have aerobridges, 24×7 network of CCTV cameras, escalators, integrated entry and exit systems, lifts, security access system and a host of other features.

Other things to cater to the needs of the passengers include-

A premium lounge with shops and eateries, duty-free shops, three underground subways, tourist visa counters, laser scanners for luggage, a large number of baggage handling systems and connectivity with Amausi metro station.
