Chandigarh University's first-gen AI-integrated campus to debut in Uttar Pradesh | Key Details

Recently, Chandigarh University (CU) announced the launch of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled next-gen campus in Unnao, a part of the newly-formed Uttar Pradesh State Capital Region (SCR). Set to begin operations in the 2025-26 academic session, this initiative comes as part of the university's broader commitment to shaping the future workforce.

The Uttar Pradesh Government has approved the development of this sprawling 100+ acre smart campus along the upcoming Lucknow-Kanpur Highway, in Unnao. This initiative is part of the newly formed SCR, which includes Lucknow, Hardoi, Sitapur, Rae Bareli, and Barabanki. Read on to explore the details of this upcoming university.

CUCET 2025 registrations now open!

The new campus will offer AI-enhanced multidisciplinary education across 43 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The curriculum will span six areas: Engineering, Business Administration, Health and Life Sciences, Humanities, Liberal Arts and Legal Studies.

The university also announced that the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) 2025 portal (Lucknow) is now open for registration. In addition to regular admissions, CU will award scholarships worth ₹40 crore to students, with a special ₹3 crore 'CV Raman Scholarship' available for those pursuing careers in scientific research. AI's role in job creation

Addressing concerns over AI and employment, Chandigarh University’s Managing Director, reassured in a press conference that AI would not lead to job losses but rather generate new opportunities. With an estimated 47 lakh new tech-related positions expected to emerge by 2028, AI is poised to fuel economic growth and innovation. He emphasised that AI-integrated education would equip students with the skills needed to thrive in an AI-driven world and take on the challenges of tomorrow.
