Lucknow has witnessed a sudden rise in dengue cases. With 20 new cases reported on Wednesday, the city's totally has now exceeded the 450 mark. Reportedly, these new cases have been reported from some prominent areas like Aishbagh, Aliganj, Indira Nagar, among others.

The extended monsoons in Uttar Pradesh have amplified the rate of dengue transmission across several districts, especially those located in the western part of the state. As of now, UP's dengue count stands at 9,521 cases, 70% of which were detected in the month of September alone. If reports are to be believed, around 200 to 250 people are being affected by this vector-borne disease in the state every day.

While the state administration is regularly conducting fogging and larvae-destruction drives in high-impact zones and otherwise, locals are urged to maintain prime standards of sanitation to curb the spread. Unchecked areas in the house often become breeding zones for mosquitoes during the monsoons. Thus, it is highly important for the public to become vigilant and keep a check on their surroundings.
