Fine, clamps & courtesy notes: Hazratganj’s Multi Level Parking's new rule book

Hazratganj shoppers — be responsible and park your vehicle at the designated parking spots.

Somya Agarwal

Hazratganj, Lucknow’s busiest shopping and commercial hub, has had a multi-level parking facility in place since 2010. Yet, many still take the risk of parking in No Parking zones. But not anymore. The old-school towing trucks are being phased out — and in their place, wheel clamps have made a firm entry.

Park smart or get clamped

Instead of towing away vehicles, authorities have now begun clamping the wheels of illegally parked vehicles, especially those not using the multi-level parking. And just to make things clear (and a little less harsh), cute sticky notes are being left on windshields — politely explaining why your car isn’t going anywhere.

For those trying to avoid a nominal parking fee, be warned: you may now face hefty fines instead. This clamp-and-fine move aims to promote responsible parking and ensure fair use of the infrastructure.

So next time you’re shopping in Hazratganj, park smart — or be ready to roll… only after paying the fine.
