The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow's Enterprise Incubation Centre (IIML-EIC) have joined as new academic partners for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women initiative. This major expansion aims to equip women entrepreneurs with critical business skills, networking opportunities, and access to capital.

New target for India, backed by proven results

Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., is a world-leading investment banking, securities, and investment management firm headquartered in New York City. Renowned for its influence in financial markets and as a prestigious employer, the firm has expanded globally, including significant operations in India with offices in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Gurgaon.

Through its 10,000 Women initiative in India, which already partners with IIM Bangalore, Goldman Sachs aims to graduate 1,000 women over the next year, working toward a long-term goal of empowering 10,000 women entrepreneurs by 2033. This effort supports India's "Viksit Bharat 2047" vision by addressing structural barriers like limited access to funding and professional networks.

The initiative has a proven track record. In India, graduates have, on average, quadrupled their revenues and doubled their workforce. Collectively, they have created over 12,000 new jobs and added billions to the economy. The expansion leverages the premier institutes' expertise to foster a powerful ecosystem where women-led businesses can scale significantly.
