Highest single day tally ever, 2369 positive cases reported in Lucknow on Thursday

On Thursday, 2369 positive COVID-19 cases were reported in Lucknow, taking the total tally to 95,976 and total active cases to 10,749. The highest single-day rise in COVID-19 cases comes after 10-days of Holi celebrations in the city.

Apart from the state capital, Prayagraj reported the second-highest number of positive cases- 1040, followed by Varanasi- 794 and Kanpur-368.

The district authorities recently imposed night curfew in multiple cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi and Noida to arrest the rise of Covid-19 cases.

While there is no weekend lockdown in place in Lucknow, the shop owners in the city are expecting a similar move in the coming days. However, there is nothing official from the authorities as yet.

Lucknowites, were seen following the norms on Thursday, the police officials have also strictly enforced night curfew in the city. All markets, restaurants, cloud kitchens and malls were shut by 9 PM in Lucknow. However, businesses falling under the essential services category are allowed to function.
