IMD issues red and orange alert for several parts of West UP; temp in Lucknow crosses 40°C mark

Avoid exposure to extreme heat and keep yourself hydrated.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the orange alert for parts of West UP for May 25 and May 26 and red alert for May 27 and May 28. Meanwhile, the state capital Lucknow also crossed the 40°C mark again on Friday.

Orai reported the highest temperature in UP at 43.8°C, which was followed by Bulandshahr, Jhansi, Kanpur, and Sultanpur. The authorities across the state have put out heatwave warnings, as well. People have been advised to avoid exposure to extreme heat while also keeping themselves hydrated.
