All schools across Uttar Pradesh will be partaking in Yoga Day celebrations on June 21 and have been instructed to remain open on the D-day. While summer vacations are going on, primary and upper primary schools will operate on International Yoga day. And will be participating in a plethora of activities revolving around the same, including both students and faculty practising breathing exercises, asanas, pranayama and suryanamaskar.
Various competitions, surrounding the theme, will also be held where the top winners will be rendered prizes. This will include essay, quiz, poster competitions for classes 6-8, where top 3 winners will be awarded.
The UP schools will open one day before for sanitisation and cleaning purposes, in order to prep up for the occasion of International Yoga Day.
Meanwhile, major universities and colleges have joined in week-long celebrations of the Yoga Week. Herein, numerous seminars, workshops and competitions related to the occasion are being held, where the connection of Yoga to mental health, its application to modern lifestyle are explained.
Certificates will also be given to students and those participating in the programme of joint yoga practise on June 21.
