Intra-city commute to get easier with the availability of buses on these 6 routes in Lucknow

People commuting from Lucknow to Safedabad, BKT, Malihabad, Mal, Mohanlalganj and Gosaiganj will be benefitted.

In an attempt to ameliorate the public transport facilities in Lucknow, the officials have planned to introduce additional buses on 6 different routes across the city. Enhancing the local travel alternatives, the buses will be deployed on Faizabad Road, Sitapur Road, Hardoi Road, Rae Bareli Road, Sultanpur Road and Mehmoodabad Road. With the run of these vehicles, people commuting from Lucknow to Safedabad, BKT, Malihabad, Mal, Mohanlalganj and Gosaiganj will be benefitted.

8,000 to 10,000 passengers to be advantaged

It is expected that the upcoming intervention will usher significant relief for regular travellers. According to the current plans, the city transport authorities will introduce 36 ordinary buses on 6 identified routes in the capital city. Each of the aforesaid routes will get 6 buses each, easing intra-city commute for the local dwellers and nearly 8,000 to 10,000 passengers will be advantaged from this project. Taking four rounds daily, the buses will boost the local transport infrastructure in the city.

It has been informed that a maximum fare of ₹35 will be charged from the passengers. Besides strengthening connectivity to the regions adjoining the suburban parts of Lucknow, the buses will also aid the college-going students throughout the city.

The city transport officials have also initiated preparations for issuing MST cards, in the form of smart cards instead of monthly tickets. Additionally, the trial run of electric buses has been initiated in Lucknow and if the pilot project reaps successful results, the electric vehicles will reform the public transport system completely.
