Knocksense Shorts | Another foggy morning in Lucknow, Met issues orange alert for UP cities

With low temperatures and dense fog blanketing the entire state, the cold spell has intensified in India's northern region. Considering the rising cold, the Indian Meteorological Department issued an orange alert indicating further rise in cold temperatures and poor visibility in various districts of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow.

Although the city witnessed slight respite from cold on Friday and Saturday, the UP state capital recorded a sudden drop in mercury levels on Sunday. Reportedly, the maximum temperature which was recorded in the city on Sunday was 13.3°C, which was 8 degrees lower than the average temperature while the minimum temperature stood at 4.1°C which was 3.7 degrees lower than the average.

Furthermore, most of the UP cities are expected to witness similar weather conditions in the coming days as per Met's forecast.
