Knocksense Shorts | Bus rides to cost more as UPSRTC increases fare

Travelling in public buses will now cost more than usual in Lucknow, Kanpur and other UP cities. The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has officially increased the fares of buses in all categories. The hiked fares are applicable from today onwards, as per the instructions from the State Transport Authority (STA).

The fare of ordinary/non-AC buses has been increased to ₹1.30 per km (increased by 25p/km). With this, the fare for other category buses has also been increased.

  • Fare for Janrath (3x2) buses has been increased to ₹1.63 per km

  • Fare for Janrath (2x2) buses has been increased to ₹1.93 per km

  • Fare for AC sleeper buses has been increased to ₹2.58 per km

  • Fare for high-end Volvo/Scania AC sleeper buses has been increased to ₹2.86 per km
