Due to the shifting weather conditions, the city of Lucknow is experiencing an increase in the number of typhoid cases. According to reports obtained from KGMU, an average of 7-8 individuals are being diagnosed with typhoid fever on a daily basis.

The transmission of typhoid cases is common among vulnerable populations like children and individuals with weakened immune systems. Thus, to curb the spread of infection, medical experts in Lucknow are urging everyone to prioritize getting the typhoid vaccine. Reportedly, the TCV vaccine which is available in the market provides 90% protection against the infection in just one shot.

Typhoid fever is a life-threatening infection caused by a specific strain of bacteria. It is primarily transmitted through the consumption of contaminated food or water. The recent surge of typhoid cases in Lucknow is largely attributed to the contamination of the city's water supply, a common occurrence during the rainy season.
