Cases of Dengue and other vector-borne diseases are surging in UP, with Lucknow and Kanpur witnessing the highest number of cases. In the last couple of weeks, over 18,000 such cases have been reported across 10 districts in Uttar Pradesh.

In view of the rising dengue cases, the health department and urban development bodies in these UP districts have amped up the preparations. While hospitals have been put on alert to ensure swift treatment of the ailing, fogging and other anti-viral activities are also being carried to curb the outbreak.

In Lucknow alone, which accounts for 1,845 cases in the duration, fogging and cleaning activities have been sped up. In addition to that, an urban awareness campaign has also been carried out across the state since October 3, to nip the outbreak in the bud.
