ATVMs have been installed at numerous stations to encourage cashless payments and booking tickets in a smart manner.

In a bid to encourage cashless payments and booking of travel tickets and platform tickets in a smart manner, Indian Railway has provided numerous North Central Railway stations with 27 new Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs).

ATVM, a medium to facilitate QR code-based digital transactions, will also expectedly help reduce long queues at stations including Kanpur Central.

"In Prayagraj Division, three ATVMs have been installed at Kanpur Central railway station, two each at Prayagraj Chheoki and Aligarh railway stations, besides one each ATVM installed at Chunar, Mirzapur, Vindhyachal, Fatehpur, Govindpuri, Jhinjhak, Bharthana, Etawah, Shikohabad, Firozabad, Tundla, Hathras, Somnath, Khurja, Dankaur, Dadri, Sonbhadra, Manikpur, Kanpur Anwarganj and Panki Dham stations,” the officials informed.

Moreover, passengers will also be able to renew season tickets or recharge their smart card by using the QR code generated in the ATVM.
