Every passenger might have to pay ₹20 user charges at the Amausi airport.

Lucknowites, soon you might be required to shell out ₹20 at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport as user charges. However, it is not the Lucknow Airport that is charging the same, the decision has been taken by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC).

The fees, charged per passenger, will go into civic amenities like disposal of waste, sanitation, solid waste pickup, maintenance of street lights around the airport, and, you get the idea.

Following the footsteps of other metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and so on, a proposal for the aforementioned is being prepared. Up until now, the Airport Authority of India did not pay LMC any user charges. Sweeping of roads around the airport, regular cleaning and waste disposal, maintenance of footpaths near the Lucknow Airport, etc, is carried out by LMC.

A system will soon be chalked out to receive user charges from the airport.
