With a motive to efficiently address the disposal of animal and pet bodies and carcasses, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) is set to establish a dedicated cremation furnace. This initiative was proposed during the initial meeting of the executive committee of the LMC, following the appointment of the new mayor.

Presently, residents encounter challenges when it comes to the proper disposal of deceased pets. Furthermore, the absence of a designated area for the cremation of animals and pets aggravates this issue. The establishment of the cremation furnace will address these concerns by providing a dignified and improved means for disposing of animal bodies.

Reportedly, the place to set up the furnace would be decided soon by the LMC officials.
