Knocksense Shorts | Lucknow to get 6 new Vande Bharat trains

Jatin Shewaramani

In a bid to enhance interstate connectivity, Indian Railways is actively planning to launch trains from the Gomti Nagar station, connecting Lucknow to key destinations such as Katra, Puri, Patna, Meerut, Mumbai and Dehradun. These trains are expected to be unveiled before 2024 elections.

The Union Railway Minister has confirmed the launch of the Vande Bharat train, which will specifically ply towards Meerut. Presently, only one Vande Bharat train operates from Lucknow to Gorakhpur via Ayodhya. The introduction of these new Vande Bharat trains is poised to offer a dependable alternative to domestic flights, providing improved transportation options for travelers.
