The Mayfair tiraha in Lucknow's Hazratganj has been renamed to Late Ram Pal Trivedi tiraha, in memory of the late freedom fighter and five-time Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA). A plaque with the new name for one of Lucknow's oldest intersections was unveiled during an inauguration on Sunday, March 26.

Apart from being an integral part of India's freedom struggle, Late Ram Pal Trivedi had a spotless 25-year stint as an MLA, winning five elections. During his tenure, he oversaw a slew of reforms in the fields of education and uplifting the underprivileged in his constituency.
