Lucknow University has constantly worked towards a better future for its students, especially in the medical field. Now, University officials have decided to open a lab dedicated to molecular genetics, where students will be able to conduct research and study all about it, as well as related diseases.

The vice-chancellor, Prof AK Rai, said that during the COVID-19 outburst, there was a scarcity of skilled labor for RT-PCR and DNA testing. Additionally, the recent growth in biomedical science demanded the need for trained personnel to cope with genetic and infectious diseases and their treatments.

The setting up of the molecular genetics lab at Lucknow University will help provide expert training and specialized education to the young students of Lucknow University who wish to contribute their skills in the healthcare industry.
