People of Lucknow have long been facing difficulty due to clogged-up routes and crowded streets between Bijli Pasi Qila crossing and Bangla Bazar, even during the non-peak hours. This is primarily due to narrow roads, which will be replaced by new 4 lane bridges. In a bid to curb the traffic jams between the stretch, the UP Public Works Department (PWD) is about to construct a new 4 lane bridge in the area which will run from the Bijli Pasi Qila crossing to the VIP road of Lucknow.

The 2 km long, 4 lane bridge will have a width of 15 metres which will facilitate seamless transport and help in getting rid of traffic jams in the area. Furthermore, it will prove to be a boon for the regular commuters residing in Aashiyana, Bangla Bazar, Shakti Chauraha, Telibagh, Alambagh and Cantt. areas.
