In order to facilitate menstrual hygiene products' access to women, three sanitary napkin vending machines have been installed and put into effect at the Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow.

Set up by the Northern Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation, the machines have been installed at the women passengers’ waiting room and washroom. The machine dispenses a napkin for a nominal price of ₹5, confirmed senior divisional commercial manager Rekha Sharma.

The move will be a relief for women travelling to and from the UP capital city via the prominent station.
