Multiple districts of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow have been under the spell of a severe cold wave for the past few days. Low temperatures coupled with biting cold winds have now put the localites in peril.

Addressing the severity of the continued cold spell in the city, the Lucknow city DM has issued a new order, as per which schools of the city for classes up to 8 will remained cancelled till January 14, 2023.

Furthermore, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) also issued an orange alert for eastern UP districts for the coming days.
