Light showers and cool wind, calm down the sweltering heat in Lucknow

Lucknow woke up to light showers and remarkably lower temperature today. The city that has been boiling up from the past few days, with the maximum temperature crossing the 45 degrees Celsius mark and the the minimum going up to 29-30 degrees Celsius, finally found respite in the form of light showers and cold wind. The temperature in Lucknow dropped to an average of 38 degrees Celsius on Tuesday with the evening bringing cool strong winds to calm the scorching afternoon. Yet, it was only in the morning that the temperature actually fell down and Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius.

According to reports, light showers and an overall not too hot temperature is to be observed in Delhi and the surrounding area. While the weather has been more forgiving in the national capital, in Lucknow it has been quite trying.

Last weekend recorded a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius, while this is typical for June, at times the temperature threatened to cross 47 degrees mark and steadily edged towards 48 degrees. The light showers and rain have brought down the temperatures to 29 degrees, while the humidity is at 82%, precipitation at 49% and the wind velocity at 3 km/h (til12pm).

The rest of the day day is expected to remain warm yet at a pleasant temperature.

Though a proper bout of rain is something which cannot be expected this soon, since the monsoon will arriving late this year. Still the light rain has provided a much needed relief to the city. The pleasant weather might not last as long as you would expect it to, so enjoy it while it lasts.
