LMC approves proposal for 45 auto-rickshaw stands in Lucknow, 27 drop-off points

Traffic jams caused by the chaotic and unregulated parking by auto-rickshaws has long been a cause for concern in Lucknow. But residents might just be about to get massive relief from the problem with the LMC executive committee passing the approval for 45 auto-rickshaw stands in Lucknow, along with 27 drop-off points.

LMC will now identify stops where the stands and pick-up points will come up

It must be noted that the said proposal for auto-rickshaw stands in Lucknow was formulated after an year of discussions between several parties. These included the District Magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar and representatives from joint front of taxis and auto-rickshaws, among other top administrative officials.

Now, the administration will get to identifying stoppage and drop-off points for auto-rickshaws. These will be the spots where passengers will have to wait for tempos and auto-rickshaws. Sign boards will also be propped up at these spots to help people locate these points.
