Aerolloy Technologies, a subsidiary of PTC Industries, has successfully commissioned its advanced Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) 400 Furnace at its Aerospace Precision Castings Plant in Lucknow. The plant is part of the UP Defence Industrial Corridor, strengthening the region’s capabilities in aerospace and defence manufacturing.

This breakthrough allows Aerolloy to produce some of the largest Titanium castings globally, important for next-gen aeroengines, defence platforms, and space applications.

Aerolloy's new capability taps global aerospace demand

With this capability, Aerolloy joins an elite group of companies worldwide that can manufacture large titanium and superalloy castings for strategic applications like submarines, aircraft, and industrial turbines. The move strengthens India’s self-reliance in high-performance aerospace materials, reducing dependency on imports.

A boost to self-reliance and defence growth in UP

The ₹300-crore VAR Furnace facility in Lucknow, is a crucial addition to the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, reinforcing India’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing. With 60% of its land already allotted, it is expected to attract major firms and drive regional security and industrial growth.

This facility complements Kanpur’s position as a hub for defence production, housing over 300 production units and generating products worth ₹1,500 crores, including key components like the Pinaka missile stabiliser. Together, these developments strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s role in India’s defence sector.
