In wake of increased travelling due to the Holi season and otherwise, the Lucknow Health Department will resume random RT-PCR coronavirus testing at the CSMIA and railway stations. As per reports, these tests will be conducted free-of-cost, at the travel depots, to trace and curtail the influx of COVID-19 into the city. If a passenger tests positive, they will be immediately isolated, restricting avenues of further spread.

The Central Government has issued new guidelines to resume COVID-19 testing at airports and railway stations. Passenger influx is high, be it because of the Holi season or those returning to the country because of the Ukraine-Russia conflict. The testing provision will act as a precaution to limit the transmission of coronavirus.
Following this, the Lucknow Health Department has announced that it will collect passenger samples, randomly to keep up the virus vigil. The COVID-19 threat has not completely faded and it is important to maintain strict surveillance to ensure that nothing provokes another infection wave, informed Lucknow CMO Dr. Manoj Agarwal.
An additional quarantine has also been ordered if travellers coming from abroad test COVID-19 positive at airports. They will be isolated as per the stipulated COVID protocols.
