Lucknow Airport to suspend flight operations between 10 AM-6 PM for 5 months | Here’s why

The restrictions will remain in place between Mar 1 to Jul 15.

Flight operations at Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International (CCSI) Airport will remain restricted for eight hours daily, from March 1 to July 15 due to runway maintenance and modernisation work. During this period, flights will only operate before 10 am and after 6 pm, significantly affecting travel schedules.

Reportedly, approximately 80 flights including international and domestic ones will be affected daily, due to the temporary closure of Lucknow Airport.

Airfares to surge at Lucknow Airport during this period

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has approved the runway’s maintenance and modernisation, ensuring essential upgrades for safer and more efficient operations.

Due to the halt in daytime flight operations, airlines have been directed to refund ticket fares for cancelled flights. Additionally, airfares are anticipated to rise due to reduced flight availability and increased passenger demand.

Passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines for rescheduling and alternative travel options.
