The graph of COVID-19 infection dipped to 141 new cases in Lucknow, rewarding a major respite on Wednesday. Luckily for the state capital, a bolstered 97.03% recovery and 0.3% restricted virus growth, has helped the district project strong recovery trends. It may also be noted that Lucknow is not reporting the highest single-day tallies in UP for the last few days, indicating an impactful break in the chain of coronavirus spread. As yet, around 2,37,153 cases have been detected in the Lucknow district since the virus outbreak last year.

Oxygen demand declines in UP as infection meter falls

The state authorities are also imploring the possibility of diverting oxygen supplies to industries. The Chief Minister stated that the O2 audit system has considerably reduced the wastage of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) and with a significant fall in the infection tallies, the demand for the same has also reduced equivalently. Therefore, given the availability of oxygen, industrial units should be allowed to use it to afloat their activities.

In a review meeting of COVID management Team 9, officials highlighted that about 47,483 coronavirus patients are in home isolation, who have raked only 17 MT of oxygen demand. At the same time, a reservoir of 628 MT of LMO has been made available in the state and around 356 MT of this supply was delivered to refillers only.

So far, 414 oxygen plants have been approved in various districts to meet the increased demand for oxygen supplies amid the second wave of coronavirus spread. These arrangements will also assist UP to reduce the horrors of the anticipatory third wave rise and the CM has directed district administrations to continuously monitor all installation activities.

As per reports, around 51 such plants are already functional in the state, catering to the demands of the active caseload. The reports of the health department also clocked in 15 deaths in the last 24 hours. The morbid toll is now propelling at 1.2% here as a total of 2,415 deaths mark Lucknow's COVID update.
