Lucknow City railway station to get a facelift: Redesigned entrance, improved lighting & more

A/C waiting rooms and LED sign boards will come up at the station to boost passenger convenience.

Lucknow city railway station in the Wazirganj area is all set to get a slew of upgrades under the Amrit Bharat project, which is aimed at redeveloping stations across the country. For the said project, NER Lucknow division has also opened a tender of ₹8 crore.

What upgrades can be expected at the station?

The Lucknow city railway station, which experiences a footfall of about 1,600 people every day, will get a redesigned main entrance, new train display board, water coolers, A/C waiting rooms, rooftop solar plant and LED sign boards.

As of now the Lucknow city railway station situated in Wazirganj caters to four pairs of express/mail trains along with a passenger train. The redevelopment of the said station was long overdue and the new project is a welcome step towards giving this old station a makeover.
