Lucknow COVID: 20 new positive & 17 recovery cases recorded on Thursday

20 fresh COVID-19 cases plagued Lucknow on Thursday, with the majority of cases pooling from Aliganj. According to the coronavirus health bulletin of the day, around 4 new positives were found in the locality, raising the pandemic concern here. Apart from Aliganj, 3 cases were reported in Alambagh, while 2 cases each surfaced in Chinhat, Indiranagar and Sarojini Nagar. All other infections were found in isolation.

119 active cases in Lucknow 

Testing and tracing of COVID-19 cases is being conducted on a war footing in Lucknow to detect the infection efficiently. Here, public awareness about the symptoms and causes of coronavirus is also playing a key role. Notably, 3 patients in Lucknow reached testing centres for exhibiting influenza-like symptoms.

Besides contact tracing and routine testing is also helping to track the transmission. Remote areas in Lucknow, like Urban Community Healthcare Centre (UCHC) NK Road, UCHC Silver Jubilee and Red Cross Society reported a single case each, adding to COVID-19 caseload.

The extensive testing drive also found at least one patient due to procedural testing, and around four as contacts of a COVID-19 positive traveller. As of Thursday, there are 119 active coronavirus cases in the city.

Recovery on the other hand surged to a total of 2,94,302, the highest in all of Uttar Pradesh with 17 successful discharges on Thursday. Meanwhile,there was no death due to coronavirus on May 12, limiting the toll to 2,694 casualties.
